It was a privilege to be asked to capture the day for Jessica & Damien. The story behind how they convinced me to photograph their wedding is a story for another day…
Continuing the tradition I started back in 2010, I head out to the same spot each New Years Day evening to photograph the sunset. In the last few years I have had some fantastic sunsets to photograph, but this year it wasn't so great. It was overcast, dull and the colours were flat. I managed to get a few shots I was happy with, and experimented with a few new techniques, including Time Lapse Video. I started this small tradition back in 2010, and for the last 4 years i have gone back to the same location for a sunset shoot on New Years day. The location itself isn't very spectacular, but I have been lucky with great sunsets so far, and 2013 was no exception.
This year i was lucky enough to have some company with me for the shoot, and hopefully that is a tradition that can also continue. When i had a camera club competition coming up with the theme "Urban Decay" this place instantly came to mind.
I asked the owner for permission, and set abou trying to capture "Urban Decay" within a pub that had partially burned down 4 years earlier. I have a few more photos ready for a good HDR program, but these will follow soon Enjoy! Live music photography is heaps of fun. The changing conditions, the energy, the rush and the great position at the front of the stage.
Children Collide were playing at the Corner Hotel in Richmond. I was there to shoot for Liveguide.com.au |
AuthorI prefer to be behind the camera rather than the keyboard, but from time to time Ill post what Im thinking Archives
